When designing the Belfast Agenda, Belfast City Council identified employability and skills as a key issue that needed to be tackled. Their draft Employability and Skills framework 2015-2025 has a clear vision to ‘realise the potential of Belfast’s economy and its people by transforming skills, employability and aspiration…’ and LEMIS+ is delighted to be one of their partners in this innovative project – an initiative that helps people and communities play a part in the prosperity of Belfast.
Between January and March 2018, we delivered Hotel Employment Academies to over 120 clients – providing the training, mentoring and personal development needed to apply for jobs in Belfast’s newest hotels – the Dalata Hotel Group’s Maldron Hotel Belfast City or Hastings’ Grand Central Hotel Belfast.
During a two week course, clients took part in a range of courses from World Host, COSHH Awareness, First AID and Barista Training as well as working with our Mentor teams on CV writing and mock interviews.
